CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH

SARO LOUNGE TO HOST A JAZZ NARRATIVE EVERY WEDNESDAY IN FEBRUARY

Omaha, Nebraska – In recognition of Black History Month, the Saro Cider Lounge presents The Progression – a musical narrative on the wide world of Jazz.  Hosted by DJ Hairbrain, an Afro-Latin DJ, these events will take place every Wednesday in February from 8pm to 10pm at the Saro Lounge located at 1012 S. 10th Street.

DJ Hairbrain will explore the rich musical genre of Jazz over the years.  Similar to the improvisational nature of Jazz, the music and discussion will focus on this artist’s interpretation of the musical impact of Jazz and its African American origins.

Jazz, as a musical genre, first began to take its hold in America in the late 19th/ early 20th centuries.  Jazz was born of African Americans’ rhythmic and percussive compositions and combined with European influences of harmony and construct.  “This should be an entertaining and enlightening opportunity for people to enjoy beautiful music, a variety of artists and learn a bit more about its surrounding culture,” says Lilith Baier, Manager of Saro Lounge.  “We hope to see lots of long-time Jazz enthusiasts and introduce this genre of music to new fans.”

The Saro Cider Lounge opened in July 2022 to share Saro’s cider varieties with Omaha.  The Saro Lounge is a laid-back bar serving cocktails, wine and beer in addition to Saro Cider.  The entire menu at the Saro Lounge is gluten-free including the small menu of yummy appetizers and desserts.  With no added sugar, Saro crafts a more traditional, European-style cider that is not too sweet but rich in flavor.  Saro, which rhymes with arrow, is a small business powered mostly by women and encourages everyone to try new things and explore more.  Learn more at www.sarocider.com or by following them on Instagram or Facebook.
